Hi all,
I am excited that I am planning my first trip to Disneyland for January 2015! Does anyone have any insight on renting a home over staying in a hotel? Does anyone have links to vacation homes you have used or considered? We are hoping to stay somewhere within walking distance. Thanks!

There's not a lot in reasonable walking distance but there are some in the condos across from the Mickey and Friends parking garage. Many owners there that rent out use vrbo (vacation rentals by owner). We've only ever rented a vrbo property once before, in Hawaii. It was a great experience and I'm looking forward renting a vrbo condo for DLR next summer.

Thank you for the insight! That's good to hear that you had a good experience renting from vrbo!

I rented a condo through VRBO on our Disneyland trip in February, and will be doing so again in September. We stayed in the complex that is across the street from the Disneyland Hotel. It worked great for us, we like to rent two bedroom places so our son has his own room. It was also nice to be able to cook some of the meals at the condo. If you have kids the condo/home rentals are nice because many in the Anaheim area are kid friendly with strollers, cribs, high chairs, toys, etc.

That is good to know they are kid friendly as we will have three kids with our group!
