I was searching online last night and am amazed and what you get for such a fair price. 3bed/3baths with a pool for $750-$900 per week. For my family of 6 thats a bargain Disney cant touch
Wow, what a great price! All of the places I've looked at are running $1500 to $2000+ a week. I'm sooo not looking at the right sites.
Would you mind sharing the site that you found that house?

The estates are made up of pool homes in a subdivision. There is no community facilities.
The resorts are usually made up of condos, townhouses, and pool homes. There is a community clubhouse and pool with maybe playgrounds, tennis, games room etc., things you'd associate with any resort.

I think some of the cost comes from when you are planning to go. We are looking at October dates. Also, most of the nicer 3bed/3baths are in Windsor Hills. HTH!
I am so glad I found this thread. We are looking at doing an extended family and friends next March (08) and bringing my granddaughter to WDW for the first time. She will be 3 1/2. We have always stayed on site but thought it would be great to do a vacation home. There will be 8 of us with possible 4 more depending on husbands' and grown kids' vacation schedules. We wanted to have a home base so we have been looking at all our options. I will be back with questions I am sure. I have earmarked all the websites already listed and am open to any and all suggestions! What kind of park tickets do most of you purchase? How many do the Sea World/Universal thing? (Usually when we are onsite we never leave the property) Thanks
kjblovesdisney - your best bet is definitely going to be an off-site rental You will have loads to choose from and many owners on this board to gain information from.
Your granddaughter will love Seaworld but not sure how much she would get out of Universal - we haven't been there in quite some time. Other will be able to advise on that.

Sea World and Universal's 2 parks are both fantastic and we visit them most years in addition to WDW parks. Ask questions about Universal parks on the Universal board for the most responses.
You will love staying offsite in a pool home. As you can see from my sig, we have gradually moved to 100% offsite and have had amazing Orlando vacations. We are already booked for March 08! (it seems to be a busy month with Easter falling in March, so I would try to find a home in the next 2-3 months if possible)

We tried Sea World on our last trip and we thought it was truly amazing. A lot of people say that they are not able to get to all the shows, but we got there at opening and did. As soon as we got there we went to the dolphin feeding area and paid a few dollars so each of the kids could feed the dolphins. Next we went straight to the Clyde and Seamore show. From there we went to the Dophin Show and finally to the Shamu show. After that, we relaxed and did the various attractions. We really didn't have a chance to see everything in one day. I have read that you can trade your ticket on the way out to get a second day free. We didn't because we didn't have time in our schedule but I would have liked to. The shows were excellent. The park is hot though. We went in February and I wished I had a hat for me and the kids. We steered away from the rides because they would have prevented us from seeing the shows. I would recommend this park to anyone.
My family & I are getting a 3 bedroom, 2 bath condo for $139 a night (7 nights) in the Windsor Hills community through allstar vacation homes. I don't know if we could have gotten a better deal through the owner, but allstar was very nice & helpful and the condo we'll be staying in looks beautiful.
