Hello everyone,
we're going to WDW april 4 till april 17th, we already have a rental pool-villa booked, but only have to pay when we get there and there's no cancellation fee. Since after the booking my DH got into golf, I was wondering if anyone knows about a home that's in a golfing community with the possibilities of playing there
for free or at reduced green fees. Maybe then I can check whether they have late availability and then change my reservation. It sure would be a big surprise to DH !!:bounce:

One I know that does this is in a development called Southern Dunes. this is a great golf course, some really nice houses and they did reduced rates. The major downside is that it is 30 minutes drive to WDW, I wouldn't be suprised if there are people would would have reported worse drive times than that last year or two , but I think the road works on the 192 are now completed and journey times of 30 minutes would be fair. Generally the nearer to Disney the house/course is the more expensive ( for it's quality) that house or course tends to be. If I was looking for a golf holiday ( and making a few trips to the parks I'd happily pick Southern Dunes, if my priority was WDW and the atractions I'd pick a house nearer WDW and drive to the golf.

You don't say how keen a golfer he is, there are dozens of top class championship courses in Orlando ( with prices to match), even more decent quality and keenly priced courses and also a good selection of cheap but still reasonable courses. A really great idea is http://www.progolfguides.com I did this a couple of years back and for a golfer it is a great treat. Phil ( the guy that runs it) is a PGA pro and he will collect you from you villa, drive you to the course, provide clubs and give you a one to one ( or if you prefer you can have up to three people in your group) playing lesson round one of the local courses. I found this so much more help than a lesson on the range because rarely do you find players hit the same on the range as they do on the course, coupled with tips on "course management".

Thanks both Neo's white rabbit and vernon for your replies. I'm going to check out the sites you recommended. For us a 30 min drive to the parks is not that much of a problem.
I'll let you know what we decided.:)
