Rental Drop off question

Hello All,

We're flying into Orlando in August and renting a car and driving down to Ft. Lauderdale first for my high school reunion, then when that's done we're driving back up to Orlando for our Disney trip. (YEAH!!!!)

The question is:

We're dropping the car off at the airport and will have already dropped the luggage and the kids (older kids) off at the hotel. What should we use to get back to the hotel? Whatever we use will probably be used again at the end of our trip to get us all back to the airport.

Why aren't you keeping the car for the entire time? Having it available in Orlando might be nice also and you can drive back to the airport yourself.

If you start to add up the cost of taxis/limos to and from Orlando International and your hotel it may be cheaper to keep the car.

well, we're staying on sight the whole time we're there and will be using Disney Transportation. The only time we'll need the car is to get back to the airport and I can't see keeping the car (and the expense) to have it sit there not being used. I told my husband that this is his vacation also so that he won't have to drive all the time.

Yeah,

Your best bet is to keep the car. Yes, it may sit in the parking lot. We have done this.

But we have it when we want to get back to the airport.

Transportaiton back from the aiport is a condsideration (mears or towncar).

Who are you renting with: If it is Dollar or National, both have a dorp off location in Lake Buena Vista downtwon disney area.

Where at Downtown Disney are the drop offs? We're going to Disney Quest the first day we're there and would drop the car off there which would be very convenient for us.

National has a drop off at the Car Care center outside the MK entrance and at the Dolphin Resort.
Avis has a dropoff at the Hilton LBV.
