Rental cars- Sixt or Payless?

Checking on rental car rates for October and they are horrendous! Normally I'd book Hertz or Budget, but both will run me over $300 for 6 nights using coupons. Checked Travelocity and both Sixt and Payless are much more reasonable. But I've never heard of either company and can't seem to find any recent reviews. Anyone have any recent experience with either company?

You are looking to early for car rental rates! You best deals will be found 2 weeks before your trip and thats is because the rental companies will release the last minute rates.

For example look at a rental that starts two weeks from todays date and you will see that the rates are very low.

I always book our car the week we leave. In 2011 we paid $84 total for a mid size with Alamo and in 2012 we rented the same car and paid $86 total.

I have used SIXT recently without any issues. it will take a bit longer to be on your way as they are located outside the airport so you need to take their shuttle. I don't think I would use them for anything less than a $50 difference in price with an onsite company.

Sixt rent a car is a rent a car company from germany and all over Europe I have used them and they are fantastic. I would definitly reccomend them to every one. For people who do not know them see them here www.sixt.com
