Rental Cars at TPA

We (four adults) will be flying into TPA at 11:10 P.M. We can rent a Ford Taurus from Budget which is on site, or we can rent a Buick Century from Alamo (off site). The Alamo rental is $15.00 cheaper than the Budget rental. For those who have rented at TPA, is it worth the $15.00 savings to go off site for a rental? We've never flown into TPA before and I wondered how much hassle it would be to save $15.00.

The trip to Alamo is quick and easy, not more than 10 minutes (actually more like 5). I would use Alamo over Budget anyday, but, that is just me.

Thanks, Gail. I value your opinion. I always read your posts and I believe you offer a lot of good advice. I would prefer a Buick Century over a Taurus anyway!

What a nice thing to say, thank you!!! btw, I am a GM kind of person and really don't like Fords, so, ITA with the Century over the Taurus.

I, too, booked Alamo at TPA based on Gail's recommendation. I was skeptical of the offsite location (based on a bad experience using the old Alamo shuttle/location at MCO), but decided to go with Alamo after reading the comments of Gail & others.

BTW, Dollar is on-site at Tampa. My husband and I rented through them on our last visit and we had absolutely no complaints. Sign up on their Fastlane. It's free and if they are busy you go to a separate, shorter line.
