Rental Car???

We are planning on going to Universal 1 day, and the tranfers will cost almost the same, as a rental car for a couple days. Would we be better off getting a rental car for 1 or 2 days, and using it to go to some of the harder to get to restaurants, or just doing the transfer? How much is parking?

We have always rented a car, I don't like to ride the buses but don't mind monorail and boats. It is easier with one when trying to get to hard to reach dining locations, you're right. It would depend on where you're going to dine, where you're coming from, how much extra that day will be after you rent one for the Universal day, etc to decide it's worth the extra cost.

Parking at Universal is $9, I believe. If you are a WDW resort guest, parking at the parks is free. Parking at the hotels are free to anyone, but you get a guest pass for a couple of hours only.
