Is the Entertainment Book a good deal for car rental or is it one of those where they give you a percentage of the most expensive car? We're just looking for a compact and not finding any good deals even with the codes from Mousesavers.com :moped:

I thought the ent book turned out to be a good deal for me. I HAD to buy one as my DD5 was selling them as a fundraiser for her kindergarten class at school. I had previously had an Alamo ressie for a 7 day minivan at around $199 using mousesavers codes. I then ckd the ent coupon code I had and got it for $138, so saved $60 and basically reimbursed me for the $25 I paid for the book, with $35 add'l savings. Now, I can toss the book, but I think I'll keep it and try to use other coupons in it since they are good for a whole year!

There's a coupon in there for Planet Hollywood (DTD) and also Universal. I have also used the HAllmark Flowers one, and the ones for McD, Taco Bell, the movie tickets ones, etc. Most of the other ones go unused.

The National ones are good because they can be "stacked" (see mousesavers). But the Alamo one for 2 class up grade can be used on a compact car(espically good for a short rental-where alamo is a little better priced) . Try them out...it takes a little bit of time but it's worth the savings in my opinion.

I've gotten outstanding rates using the Budget coupons from the Entertainment book. Most are good for compact cars or larger. Good luck! :)

Just to add my 2 cents here...we have been actively looking for a cheap rental for the week...we are staying at OKW, but would like to go to grocery store and my in laws are coming with us and have planned a day of sailing out on the coast...anyway...hubby went into travelocity over the weekend and got a rate of $107 for a full size for a week from enterprise and we even get to use the enterprise coupon for $15 off from the entertainment book when we get there! So, $92 works for me! The cheapest anything we had found previously was in the 120s. I think the ecomony was only $104 for a week...so not much difference there!
You have to do these things online though...we called enterprise direct and they told us they couldn't give us anything even close to that over the phone...this also happened with Budget when we called them. So check your online deals!

hmmm you got a good deal.....

enterprise site and travelocity both now want 210$ all in for a full size for your dates even with the dollar$ off coupon nowhere close to what you got

the lowest now for full size seems to be with thrifty

OMG
I can't even believe it!!! Thank goodness we booked when we did. My husband is FAMOUS for saying...ah, we'll wait a few days and see if it goes down!!! IMAGINE! I go crazy!!! If he sees something in the store, he'll pick it up and end up putting it back and say...I'll come back for it! Drives me crazy!!! Thank goodness I put my foot down and said...hello...we are leaving in a week, will you just book it already!! The same car is now $270 for the week!!!! I wonder why that happens, but I am thrilled we got the price we did!!!!!

I used the entertainment book coupon on our rental and for 7 days on a midsize SUV, we're paying aourn $150 with all taxes, etc. I'd say it's a good deal.

Also, as far as "waiting for the price to go down". I never ever ever wait on a rental car. I book what I'm willing to pay and then keep checking for a better rate. If the rate goes down, cancel and rebook. If it goes up, you're already locked in at the lower rate. I never wait for rental car rates to go down...but just keep checking.
