We are going to be renting a car for our Oct 2011 trip and I am a little stressed about it- there will be 4 adults and 1 child (in a car seat- but he is 5 so I think I might just buy a cheap, booster seat to get us through the week rather than dragging down my large car seat for him). What size car do you think we will need? We will all also have suitcases/carry-ons. Any tips for renting a car (car size, cheap places to rent, etc)? :confused3

TIA!

Try Dollar without any codes. They offer city specials which sometimes beat their published/advertised promo code offers. Good Luck.

I just signed up for Alamo & Nationals programs (Insider & Emerald Club). I got quotes before I signed up and after and the price was almost $200 less on a full size car.

With the number of people in your group, depending on how much luggage you have, I'm guessing you might need a minivan or at the very least a full size.

We bring DS6's booster from home. It's the backless kind and I just pack it in the checked luggage and put clothes all around it. That way I don't have to carry it through the airport, since I already has to carry DS2's car seat cause he uses it on the plane.
