rental car size advice

Do you think we can fit in an equinox (ie "midsize suv")? we will have 2 adults, 2 kids in carseats, a double stroller, and a couple of suitcases (plus some light groceries we will pick up on the way). The biggest issue is to/from the airport b/c that is when trunk space will be a premium. We haven't seen one IRL so we are having trouble gauging if we can fit. I am not worried about the passenger area. Can anyone provide some guidance? JJ

I'm not sure about the size of an Equinox but we made the trip in a Dodge Grand Caravan with two adults and two kids in booster seats. No strollers but we did take a dorm fridge! It was great having all that room-we have a compact car.

Yes, I think the trunk on the caravan is a lot bigger though. This is a midsize SUV so I am worried the trunk will be too small. But I appreciate the feedback. JJ

Oops, I misread the question. Well, actually I read it right but my pea brain didn't process the information. I saw "SUV" but was thinking "VAN".

We had a midsize SUV one time, and there were three adults and one child in a carseat. We were there for TWO weeks, so we had major luggage....13 pc. actually total with small bags, large bags, stroller, etc. It all fit, barely, but it did. So, you should be fine.

We just returned and had a Dodge Torrent (similar to Equinox). I think you will be fine with car seats and luggage. If you purchase a lot of groceries, you can always utilize the floor space in the back seat.

If you are still concerned head over to a Chevy dealership and look at the Equinox so you can gauge the size of the luggage area. LOL you could measure out how large your suitcases are and then bring a tape measure with you to the dealership and measure the cargo area.
