Our trip is 12/18-12/26. We are flying down and arrive around 1pm. We have our round trip transportation all set up to get from the airport to the hotel and back. Now I am thinking...would it be worth it to rent a car? Looked into rates and the lowest rate I could get is $237.53 using National for an intermediate car. Do you think its a good rate?

I posted on the transportation board as well, but no responses as of yet.

Thanks!

Considering the dates, I think this is a pretty fair rate. DSis's FIL just tried to reserve a MS thru National, pick up in Ft.Lauderdale, drop off at MCO, 12/28-1/7...they quoted him almost $900!
Go to mousesavers.com and try using the different codes available, look for coupons, etc., and see if your price gets any better.

Try using the Priceless Vacation contract I.D. # 6600330 and I also used coupon # 10009123. I was able to get a mini van for $240 for 8 days. Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I used the coupon with another contract id and the price dropped to $214.14 for an intermediate car. I tried using the contract id you gave, but the price was higher.

Now I just need to figure out if its really worth it. The limo company will cost $133, and if I use a coupon, it will be $128. The rental car will be $86 more, but the convenience will be fanatastic!! We are staying at the BWV, and will be spending a majority of time at MK and Epcot. We will be going to DTD as well as MGM and DAK so I am thinking that right there the benefits outweigh the cost. Hmmm....what to do....????

You got a terrific price for your minivan by the way!! Good for you!!

Please note that this coupon requires having a 2005 Entertainment book. At least, that is what it said when I tried to use it. Wish I had one cos this would have saved me on my rental, but it's too late since we're leaving in little more than a week. Without the coupon, it puts the price at what most of the in-terminal companies seem to be charging - about $185-$190 for 8 day rental and a full-size car.

I think I got a pretty darned good rate from Thrifty online and it was kind of dumb luck. I like to use Expedia and Orbitz, etc, to guage rates, then go to the individual companis' websites to see how much better they can do and about 2 weeks or so before my current trip starting Saturday, I was able to book a Jeep Grand Cherokee from 12/4 - 12/9 for a total of about $144 including taxes. I was pumped! Of course, I have had 2 price adjustments in that time frame that took it down $18 but still it's a good rate. My advice, check the individual car rental websites. Here's a good resource page for the different companies: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=car+rental&fr=FP-tab-web-t&toggle=1&ei=UTF-8

I hope it links.
