I think this is the right place for this post and I sure hope someone can help me. What are some of the pit falls of renting a car in your home state and driving down to disney. The reason I'm asking is because we are a faimly of five with a pretty spacious car. However on a road trip last yr I redebated my plans on Driving to WDW. Well I did some checking and to fly out of Cleveland for 5 is costly. Pretty much prisoners to Continental. Well found fairly go rate for July w/Airtran. But then discovered I could rent a mini van in Cleveland and Drive down without that many extra miles. It would save me money considering that I would need a flight and a way to the resorts. Also with 2 small children and a pre teen maybe this was the way to go. However I was wondering what the pit falls of this plan maybe other then extra miles charged, gas and traffic. So has this worked well for other larger faimlies in the past and did you have any problems? Thanks for your help.

We rented a car once and drove to WDW, just the two of us though. FAmily car was going through some major problems and we did not want to chance it having problems along the way. We picked the rental car up at the airport and dropped it off after our return to same location, no problem at all doing that. Flying money wise was out of the question and this was a good alternative to wear and tear on your own car or possible car problems along the way... :flower1:
