Rental Car Question

We are debating whether or not to fly to Orlando sometime in the spring but we would need a rental car. Since we've always driven we've never had to rent a car before and I haven't got a clue as to how to go about it. I've checked out a couple of rental car websites and received quotes but can you rent a car here to pick up in Orlando -- ie. pay Cdn $$? How do you get discounts? Any company better than another? Any hints or ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks.

There is a lot of info on this over on the "transportation" board. I got a ton of helpful info there when we rented in 2002. Another great resource is mouseavers website.

Unfortunately, the only way is to book thru a TA to get a rental and pay in Cdn funds. It works out cheaper to do it yourself and pay in US.

I rented a car from National last month and got a great rate $200 US for 9 days for a full-size car. Just keep watching Mousesavers - Car Rentals and the DIS Transportation Board for codes & tips...they're both really helpful and should help you get the best deal out there. Good luck.
