Rental car prices???

I booked a car through jet blue and it is with dollar. My ?? is I booked a SUV for $179.00 for the week but I just checked the jet blue web and the price for that kind of car went up $300.00. Does my price go up or do they have to give it to me for the price I booked at?? I am sorry but I never rented a car before and really don't know how this works. If anyone can lend a hand and help this dm out it would be great. I really don't want to tell dh that it will cost us $500.00 to rent a car when he really wanted to drive. Thanks!!

If you have a confirmation number for your reservation, that is what you pay. Just be sure to bring that information with you.

Don't let them put lots of add ons to your car rental. Check out the credit card you use. Most credit cards suppliment your own auto insurance so you don't need to pay additional for that. The car rental companies also try to sell you the gas. This means you don't have to fill the car up when you bring it back. You are better off stopping locally and filling up your tank than taking this option. The only way it works to pre pay for the gas is to bring it back on fumes. Enjoy your car rental. It is one of the adventures of being on vacation.

We are flying for the first time in years too. My DH prefers to drive too. I am hoping everything goes smooth or I will hear about it till the cows come home.
