Rental Car Prices

Anyone use Priceline for name your own price on your rental car to Disney? How did it go? Did you get your bid price? How far in advance did you book? We are planning our September trip and trying to find a reasonable car rental price......any tips? Thanks!!!

We always use Priceline's name your own price option.

It works out quite well, we have saved a lot of money from advertised prices.

I can remember getting a car for $7-$9 per day over the years. I've they are not as generous anymore..... Do your research, checking car prices , then go to Priceline, check their prices and then bid.

Be sure you are going, as there are no refunds. We start by under-bidding.... then gradually increasing our bid, if necessary. You can only do so many bids in a day, so it may take a day or 2.

We have used hotwire in this way. The last time I followed my dates and when I got an email that my prices had dropped to a great price, I booked it. It is non-refundable so be sure about prices and dates.

We have done it once before and got a smaller car for about $8-9 a day (don't remember which) and was the cheapest we could get it. After that one time, we found we could always get a car rental cheaper through the companies by watching prices. We are also going in Sept and my advice is to make a reservation for an amount you would be comfortable paying, but do not do a prepay or lock into a price. About 14-10 days before, rental prices start dropping and we got our cheapest rate at about 5-2 days before our trip.
