Rental Car Pickup Time

Does anyone know how long they will hold a rental car reservation until you pick it up? I have an Alamo rental ressie for 10 am and the flight lands at 9:45 am, and was wondering if I should switch the pick up time until 10:30 am in case I can't make it by 10 am.?
If I switch to 10:30 am, and I show up for pick up earlier than the scheduled pick up time, I wonder if the car would be ready?

We had a car booked through Alamo once that we never used. I was able to check our online account about 8 hours later and the reservation was still showing up online. So I am thinking that they do hold it for some time. The next day though the reservation was gone from our online account.

Your time differences are minimal, you won't have any problems. We have had the same scenarios with time differences (half hour to an hour difference from when we reserved to when we picked up). We have never had a problem.

Be careful switching the time, you may be stuck with a much higher rate than your current reservation. If the cost is the same you can change it if it makes you feel better, but if the new rate is higher DON'T change the reservation. I would actually book the new reservation to see the rate and then cancel the old. Don't modify the current one.
