rental car from resort?

Is there a way, if we choose to, rent a car at the Poly? We have family outside of Orlando, and on one of our "off" days, we were thinking about renting a car to go meet them somewhere...is this possible? Can you rent a car at the resort?
I'm thinking its a big no. but i was just curious if maybe people change there minds and get a rental last minute to get to other parks...

No, there isn't. BUT...you can get a shuttle over to the Car Care Center and pick up your rental there. I'm just not sure if that's an option if you don't have an existing reservation for a car. You have to call them the night before to set up the time...they will come to wherever you are and take you to the rental office. Alamo/National are there.
you can also head to the Dolphin..there is an Alamo/National counter there as well.
There are many different car rental companies in the resorts of DTD...Budget is at the Doubletree for instance. Some offer pickup service.
