We have a package and rented a car w/Alamo. Will there be extra taxes and fees or will they have already been included in our package price?

It depends on the package but usually it isn't included. They don't know what additional insurance you will want.

Read your package. Usually it is prepaid except for the taxes and fees. Or.... call your travel agent, they would be in the best position to answer this question, since they made the arrangements.

If you don't want the insurance be sure to make yourself clear. We used Alamo for our last trip. DH told them he didn't want the insutrance and they said "okay, so just the minimum" they then added the minimum insurance. Since I made the reservation DH didn't realize the price was a lot higherr than I was quoted.

That is GREAT advice!!!! Very tricky question they are using, and I think it is very deceptive, and would insist on a refund for something like that.

First of all, take a copy of your car insurance showing that you have full coverage. The only thing your insurance coverage won't cover is getting another car if you get in a wreck or what ever everything else is covered if you have full coverage. No matter what they tell you as long as you have proof of insurance you are fine. Secondly, pump your own gas into the tank. If you are anything like me you won't use much over a half a tank. and it is cheaper to do it yourself than to be charged 30 dollars for returning it with a less than full tank.

Budget car rental info and example

Budgets good points great rates, can use debit card instead of credit card. reserves on debit card 20% above cost of rentals for incedentals. Our rate was 154 for 5 days taxes included reserved again debit card only 200.
Budget bad points have to know when the counter people are trying to get that extra commission for insurance and incedentals.

Alamo, charges only the amount of rental, allows use of debit card for rental.
I use the prepaid gas, I use it and don't wish to worry about 2.00 more per tank that I MIGHT have saved, I am on vacation and don't want the hassle.
National, uses debit card at the end of rental, does not put hold on credit card at the beginning of rental. Again, I use the prepaid gas for the reasons mentioned above.
I do not buy extra insurance, I do not bring my insurance card, I tell them NO, simply, easily and I don't play games. I also sign up for every single quick rent feature available. IE: National - Emerald Club - Alamo - Quick Silver etc. All my preferences are there, it eliminates hard sell.
Be blunt, be forceful, tell them you do not want any insurance, don't fall for "fuzzy questions". If they say, you only want the basic insurance, tell them I don't want any insurance. Listen to what is said and tell them NO.
It is no surprise that Budget is owned by Sears and is the ONLY place I have been hassled for insurance. Sears-extended warranties, Budget- insurance. Tricky!!!

Gail~~You are my kind of person! No b*s*!! ;) Actually, you HAVE to be firm or some of these places will talk you into all sorts of things you don't want/need.
