Hello folks ;)

My DH, and 2 DSs (1 & 5) are returning to our home-BCV at the end of May. We are going to be using Tiffany Towncar service to/from the airport. Since we feel that we spend so much time on the bus going to/from the MK and to/from different resorts for our meals, we are tossing around the idea of renting a rental car for transportation to/from resorts and BB. We would be picking up/dropping off car at the Dolphin and paying $138.00 for seven days (including the weekend). What are your thoughts, concerns, etc. and........

When I was looking at mousesavers.com, Alamo or Dollar (can't remember) said they offer discounts to AP holders and to find the code in the pass sleeve. What is the pass sleeve? If its the paper holder for the passes, I can't find any code.

Any help and thoughts on renting a car would be great!

I'm not sure why you wouldn't just rent a car at the airport... paying for tiffany towncar AND a car rental sounds redundant. Alamo is now the "preferred" company at WDW and they are located on aiport property so it's so easy to just get your car and drive yourself to WDW.

I would check the rates with DVC as well, they get discounts with Alamo. We just planned a trip for NYE (couldn't believe we got a room at this late date!) and the best rate I could find on my own with codes and coupons was $139.99 for a 6 day rental (not including taxes) which I thought was awesome for that time of year (considering many car rental companies were asking over $300 for the 6 day rental). MS was able to get me a rate at Alamo of $102 for 6 days (plus tax). I don't know why I even called and asked since last time I tried (back when national was the partner) DVC gave me basically the same as "rack rates" at national. Anyway, it's worth it to give DVC a try.

Lisa,
I never thought about checking with MS for a rental car! What size car did you rent for 102.00? That is a very good rate!

It was an intermediate (but also for 6 days with NYE/NY Day in the middle of it, so I assume "the expensive" season). Give them a try, it can't hurt! That's for 6 days, and does not include tax (I've found taxes and fees add about another 30-40% onto the cost of the car, ouch).
