Rental car codes...

Does anyone have any new codes for Avis or Budget? I have put in all of the older ones that have been floating around and most seem to expire on Dec 15. We will be picking up on Dec 18 of course!

I never have any luck getting any lower rates, no matter which budget code i use. I did, however get a good rate with Avis for my rental in Feb. with a code from www.rentalcodes.com

I would highly recommend that you check you www.mousesavers.com There are a ton of codes for various rental agencies. We are heading to WDW in January and got a great rate of $199/wk for a minivan through Alamo using the MC rate code. Good luck

Thanks for the advice. I actually combined both websites! I used the MC from mousesavers- thanks Mary! and one of the MANY coupon and promo codes from rentalcodes.com. The rentalcode rate actually had another code but I substitued MC and it worked! I ended up getting an additional $15 off the rental by doing this. My van rental came out $185 + taxes!!!
If you want to try this I used promo code 675899 and coupon D14B.

It looks like an Alamo code. And, you will need the coupon.

Also, a fellow DisBoard member suggested a program to me called SideStep that will compare prices across the web for you. If you're interested it can be downloaded for free at:
www.sidestep.com

Gail - I know you're something of an expert on car rentals (I've seen your posts many times). Can you use a different promo code than what's listed on a coupon and still have the coupon honored??

with national yes, Alamo accepts the different coupons and codes, but, I have been told they won't accept it when you get there. I have not tried it with Alamo. The other companies won't even let you get to the next page if the coupon and code don't match.

Thanks! I knew National combined codes but I'd been wondering about the other rental agencies.

I used this also, got it for 199.00, then I used an alamo coupon from our KidStuff book(like entertainment) and I got another $20 off, so before taxes we got a minivan for 179.00

I put in a number of different codes at different places. I actually ended up with the cheapest price at alamo WITHOUT using a code! full size was 135 per week not including taxes..Needed ten days of rental and for a full size with taxes will be about 260 dollars for the ten day period. I umped on that one and printed my confirmation off. Give it a try!!..this was for the second week of december..
