I am trying to find a good deal on a suv or mini-van for August 4-10. We decided on a last minute trip to Florida due to the awesome SW deal going on.

Did you get a deal on SW air? I thought their $39 sales were for travel dates mid-september thru december? My flights have been holding steady at $300pp...

Anyway, I use LM Car Rental. They're dirt cheap because you have to provide them proof of insurance coverage or they make you buy their coverage www.lmcarrental.net

I thought it was for those dates also, but I decided to check out August, and they were the exact price as my September dates!

Budget Rent a Car use BCD code x474200. Minivan or suv comes up as $225 for those dates. You could also search online for a coupon code to add to that to reduce the price even a bit more.

I found a great deal on Orbitz for our July trip. First time I ever used a company like that. It was better than any code I found.
I was nervous to use them, esp. with such a killer deal, but all of the paperwork is directly from National and reflects the price.

i've used priceline to bid for cars a few times and it worked out really cheap. we were only renting an economy car (Though we got upgraded) and we paid 10$ a day (what i bid) before tax/fees. i would seriously suggest trying this if you don't care what company you use. you can bid once every 24 hours.
