Rental Car at Disneyland?

Does anyone have any experience renting a car at Disneyland for a few days? We won't need it the entire time, and I'm wondering if there are rental agencies nearby that anyone would recommend? I really don't want to rent at the airport and have it sit at the resort racking up parking charges while we don't need it. Any thoughts?

Alamo is the offical car rental company of the resort. There is a rental office at downtown disney.
