:yay: Hi everyone...this is my very first post!!
Curious, we are heading to Disney in Feb 09 for our first family trip!! Should I bring our 2 umbrella strollers or rent a double down there? Our twins will be 5 1/2 when we go. Thanks!!

We just returned from a 16 night trip and my sons are 7 1/2 and 5 1/2 and both were able to walk the whole time and didn't require a stroller. We had decided we would rent a stroller if they needed one, but they both were able to keep up with us the whole time. We had very little down time, we had 10 days in the main parks and when we were not in the main parks we were at the water parks or Disney Quest. We were in the parks by 10:00am most days and didn't return to our trailer until 11:00pm at the earliest most nights.

I would say if you kids are healthy kids with no medical reasons that would prevent them from being able to walk let them try it on their own they might just surprise you.

Alot depends on your children. My almost 5 yr old did not need a stroller at all the last time.:goodvibes If your kids get tired easy you probably need a stroller. If they are curious and like to run around I think bringing strollers would be best because you can contain them while you are busy at the airport(if flying) and nice to have when not at the parks(DD, hotel etc.) If you think they will be walking most of the time and just need a rest once and a while you may just want to bring one and have them share.

You know your children the best, just try to balance what they really need and what's extra because you don't want to lug around things you don't use.

I have found that if you go early and get the popular rides and the outside rides done first then you can do air conditioned rides when it is hot. Also have some down time for the kids(and you)-mine loved to play in the water jets. I used this strategy last time and did not need a stroller at all.

Thanks so much for the advice! I think we will go without and assess the situation down there, and then if we need one, we could rent one. Thanks!!

where they are older i understand not wanting to bring your own, plus if you dont already own umbrella strollers, they arent so cheap anymore.
another alternative to renting in the park is renting from a rental service. two i can think of are abbf.com and orlandostrollerrentals.com both will deliver the stroller right to your resort. they are by far cheaper than renting from DW.

this was my families first time going to Disney, we have a 4 and a 6 yr. old. We weren't sure if we should buy or rent or not even get a stroller when we got there. Someone told us about Orlando Stroller Rental and how easy they were to work with. Well let me tell you, what a pleasure and what a relief it was to deal with them!

The stroller was there waiting for us when we checked into the hotel with our name on it, set aside. When we left, we dropped it off at bell hop and never had to worry about a thing. The best thing with these strollers, we were able to take them out of the park, not having to carry the kids back to the hotel when they fell asleep. They were easy to manuever, close up, bring on the bus or boat.

I highly recommend this company and to them I say 'thank you' for making my first trip a memorable one, with one less thing to worry about. We'll be back!
