Rent pts at BWV or WLV

We are thinking about renting pts. for two nights in March. We have 2 boys 3 and 5, would you recommend BWV or WLV? Thanks!

I assume with 2 little boys that you will want to be close the MK, so I would recommend VWL. But frankly at this late date, you might not have a choice depending upon when in March you are talking about. You might need to get a member to check and see what's available with your dates and then see what your choices are. I hope it works out, DVC accomodations are great no matter what resort you end up with.

Assuming you'll be wanting to spend most of your days at MK, I'd go for VWL as they have both a boat that goes to MK (our DD5 loves it) and now a direct bus. We like VWL because it's cozy, a bit quieter than other resorts (which is good for us after being in a park all day), has its own pool and hot tub (although all guests at WL can use them both, most opt to swim in the main pool with the slide), and is a fun place to just explore--totems, a geyser, hidden Mickeys, and a path to FW that's good for biking, walking, or running. There is a boat and bike rental right behind the quiet pool, as well.

Some complain that VWL doesn't have a lot of eating choices, but we found the Roaring Forks grill to be just fine for fast food type items and drinks. For sit down service, you have Whispering Canyon Cafe which most people love with its rowdy behavior and all-you-care-to-eat meals--personally, we didn't much care for it. Then there is Artist Point, one of WDW's best and nicest restaurants (yep, kids are welcome, too). Since the suites at VWL have full kitchens (studios have kitchenettes), we usually eat breakfast in the room and often pack lunches. Seeing as you'll only be there for two nights, I don't think eating options will be an issue for you, anyway. To us, VWL is home away from home. Good luck on your choice. aw:

All the resorts at Disney are great. Decide where YOU want to stay. The kids wont know the difference and I am sure they will have fun, no matter where they are. It is Disney

I don't know if your kids are "outdoorsy" or not, but WL is my FAVORITE resort and most kids LOVE it. My 8 and 5 year old nephew and niece really enjoyed staying there.

What dates are you looking at going? Maybe we can check availability for you.

That would be great if you could check availablity! We are actually going for a week and staying in a vacation home. This will be our second trip with the boys, we went last May and go hooked. We haven't stayed onsite before. We decided for this trip we would stay in house for the week with the whole extended family (12 of us) and then our family of four will stay for a few more days and see what all the excitement is about on property. We were planning on staying at ASMo with Buzz and Woody, but it looks like maybe I can rent points and get a studio next to a deluxe resort for about the same $. Also we have tossed around the idea of buying DVC since May, so I thought maybe this would be a good way to check it out. If someone wouldn't mind checking availablity for me so I can see what my options are, that would be great! It will be for March 5th and 6th!

I just called member services (MS) and they have a studio room available at BWV (preferred view) and availability at VWL. Both cost 28 vacation points total for the two nights.

BWV preferred view is typically of the quiet pool area or the main pool area. You can waitlist for a boardwalk view (cost the same amount of points as PV) or a standard view (costs 22 points) and overlooks the parking lot area.

I'm excited to hear that you're wanting to join DVC. Trying it out first is a great idea.
