Rent movie

Rent is pretty much freakin amazing! I just met a guy that was in it on Broadway this summer!I love love love Idina Menzel (Wicked fans anyone?) so I cant wait! Seasons of Love is the best song ever! :rolleyes1

I just heard the soundtrack yesterday on the ride to NYC (i saw avenue q. amazing show... but getting back on subject...) there were parts I liked, parts I sorta liked, parts I disliked...
my one complaint is that Benny does not sound mean enough. he's wayy too soft and nice in You'll See.

and the dialouge parts they cut out of all the songs... I miss them. especially the 'maureen i'm not a theatre person' part in Rent.

oh well... guess we'll have to wait till the movie comes out to make the final verdict. :)

haha I completely agree; I have a feeling that some dialouge may come back, but maybe just not in song form?

I know, I miss the "maureen I'm not a theater person" as well, but Collins' "getting dizzy" pretty much makes up for it, it's adorable. We're actually having a Rent workshop for my theater company, where we get to meet the Broadway cast, have lunch with them, and attempt to perform the show onstage. It's pretty awesome. Anyway, glad people have the soundtrack. I'm off to listen to it! :)

*bounces up and down* guess what? I'm going to see the Broadway show of RENT tomorrow!!! *squee* lol

Hey guys! Someone made this amazing video of interviews and scenes from the RENT movie. Click on the link, then scroll down until you see the big box, and "click above to Launch Video Player". It's an amazing video, I felt so bad for Idina in one part. She says that she won't read anything online anymore because there are too many haters out there :sad2:
So enjoy! 3 days till the movie!

I can't wait to see it! Last year my choir sung 'Seasons of Love' as one of our spring songs, and I loved it! I hope this movie is as great as I'm expecting.

I can't wait to see Rent. I have the play soundtrack, and I love the music but I want to get the movie soundtrack. I listened to it, and I think it sounds better. Another reason why I want to see Rent: I LOVE Idina Menzel!!!!!

I just got my tickets! My two friends and I are going right after school tomorrow, although I would have given anything to go to a midnight showing. I'll try to post a review or something :)

OMG!!!! I just got back from seeing it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was soooo good, I hope everyone loves it as much as meeee

Hey guys! (Once again, this in Tinkerbelle22 trapped in her mom's username). I saw the RENT movie a few hours ago with my two friends. Wow. It's still not soaking in that I saw it, I mean, I've been waiting since May. But it was so incredible, even if you've never heard of Rent, go see it. Like, now. :)
I was crying, and the people behind me were sobbing so loud that there were times when you couldn't hear the words. But the movie stuck so close to the original, and to Jonathan Larson's message. So I give it a thousand thumbs up, and I can't wait to see it again. Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

ok, sorry my last post was so .... not descriptive lol.

So heres my full "review" :lovestruc
Ok, so Rent was amazing, better than I thought it would be, actually. It was mostly songs, there was probably about a good 1/2 hour of dialogue(sp?) in the 2hr and 15 minute movie (not that I'm complaining),even thought they cut out a bunch of songs (the tune ups, the voice mails, christmas bells, halloween, You okay honey, maybe one or 2 others). It was kind of funny because they spoke some of the songs (such as You okay Honey). It was really touching/sad, my friend and I were just sitting there crying.lol. ummm..... They stayed pretty faithful to the play, except for in a few places they changed the order of the events. The scene in the Life Cafe was definitely my favorite! Even my friends who weren't into Rent before are singing the songs. (muah ha ha)

I've also been waiting for this for what seems like forever, now I don't have anything to look forward to!! hmm I wonder if my mom will take me to the city to see the play for my birthday.... :flower:

I saw oh, the first 20 minutes or so. But then ,we had to be evacuated out of the movie theater due to a very small fire in the snack area! My friends and I were so mad, but we're going to see it again sometime this weekend.

OMG it was amazing!

It was a little weird at first, especially to hear the 'december 24th, 9pm' spoken, but OMG. it was phenomanel (sp)

Rosario Dawson was SO good... her Out Tonight is simply incredible! And Tango Maureen was excellent!

And who was bawling from the Cover You reprise on? ME! omg was I crying. Not as hard as I did when I saw it on Bway, but still crying my eyes out.

I'm def going to see it again sometime in the future! :)
