We've rented once before so I understand a little about renting DVC points. Our oldest will be in Kindergarten next year so we will now be more limited in when we can go on our WDW trips as we don't like her to miss much school.
Since this might still be fresh in people's mind -
How hard was it to rent points for the second week of April this year?
What were the price per points going for during this time frame?
And going into next year's spring break -
Any advice on when I should start looking for points?
It is eleven months out for home based owners, correct?
Should I try to hook up with someone even before that?
Thanks so much!
Shan :)

Because your dates are fixed, I would make your reservation right at the 11th month home resort priority window. You never know from one year to the next whether the Resort will sell out quickly or there will be rooms at the 7th month. The Beach Club and the Boardwalk (especially the standard view rooms) will sell out quiclky. You may have an late opportunity at OKW and Wilderness can go either way. You should, therefore, make your rental arrangemnets prior to the 11th month window so that your reservation can be placed on a daily basis thus insuring your place at the Resort of your first choice.

Let me know if I can help with your plans. I have points at all 4 DVC Resorts inside Disney World as well as Vero Beach. docdds@aol.com

I agree. The week before Easter and the week after Easter are very popular. The DVC Resorts (as well as the other on-site Disney Resorts) consider those two weeks to be peak season.

If you want to be sure of getting your first choice of resort, room size and dates, you'll need to find someone to make the reservation for you at the 11 month mark.

Best wishes!
