Here is my question...... I would love to hear opinions or additional suggestions. Should I rent a fridge from POP this September (I hate to shell out 100 bucks for it), or should I spend 140 at home and get a electric cooler that will be mine forever?? I am flying, so I'd have to keep it in it's box for plane travel, and I would definately have to check it. Has anyone brought a cooler on a plane before??

Why don't you try to get in on the fridge swap if your dates are available? I think I saw something on the POP thread and there were severeal dates needed to be filled.

Yeah, I checked those, they are totally booked for my dates. If I could only be so lucky:rolleyes: . Thanks for the suggestion!!

unless you were planning on buying lots of things I would just bring a collapsible cooler or buy a foam one and just add ice everyday. By the time you spend that much on a refrigerator I am not sure you would be saving that much.

i'm going sept 10 to 20th i couldn't find a fridge swap for my dates so i'm just stopping and grabbing a styrofoam one one the way there

If you'll have transportation offsite, purchase a foam cooler at a discount store and some one-gallon zip top bags to hold ice. Much easier to empty than loose ice in the cooler!

If you won't have transportation, bring (or ship) a collapsible cooler. Or, perhaps, ship a cooler with related items in it to your resort. Then you won't feel you have to take it home with you! :)

Why don't you start a fridge swap? It usurally cost about $100 total including shipping to disney. Then you could recoup some of your money. If you got 10 people then it would cost $10.00 each.

We have a soft sided rolling cooler that we pack with snacks and check as luggage. I have a plastic bin that fits inside so when the ice melts, it doesn't make a mess. Its large enough to hold 1/2 gal of milk and oj as well as yogurt, cream cheese, etc. We add new ice daily - I would never pay $10/day for a frig.

Keep checking back on the fridge swap, I just signed up for a new one that is trying to start up, I was in on one last Oct & it was the best thing I ever did...went smooth NO problems, Good Luck

Rather than purchase an electric cooler and transporting it on the plane. I would watch for sales on Target.com or Walmart.com for a small Dorm fridge and have it shipped to your resort. Generally you can get them for about $50. Then you can decide if you want to take it back with you on the plane or just leave it. That is what I plan to do on our next trip when we go to POP.
