Renovations Wyndham Palace

Hi Everyone,
We have just been informed by our Travel Agents that they will be doing renovations on the outside of the hotel from Nov 4th until March 2003 The work will involve scaffolding etc, it does say that they will try not to use the rooms involved but It will mean if we are involved we cannot use the balcony. Just thought I would let you know in case anyone else is staying there. We go 29th November.

Have they offered you alternative accommodation, an upgrade or a bit of a discount because of the inconvenience?

No they have not offered anything, I have emailed the hotel direct via Wyndham request manager, I will let you know what response I get.

I stayed at the Wydham during the first week of October. Some balconies (including mine) were already out of action. Looked like the work was just starting.

The lack of balcony wouldn't have been so bad if they hadn't plastered warning notices all over the window which totally obscurred any possible view of the fireworks over Epcot

All the rigging/ropes etc seemed to be on that side of the hotel - the pool side seemed okay at that time.

The hotel itself is fine - shop is rediculously expensive and there are no vending machines so you are forced to pay through the nose for a bottle of water etc.

Well we decided we could not put up with paint fumes at the Wyndham, they could not say we would not be affected so we have changed the hotel. Just about everywhere we wanted was booked AKL Swan, in fact most on site properties. We ended up booking Marriott Orlando World Center hotel I do hope this hotel is ok. Anyone stayed there?
