Has any one stayed in the Renovated rooms at the Grosvenor? I have found a really good rate of 79/night for Courtyard view room for September trip. The reservations person said that all renovations should be completed by August, so basically the whole place should be like "brand new".

I have read so many sour reviews/comments about this hotel, but have also read some positive comments. Not expecting anything fancy, nice and clean fine with me, with decent service/staff.

Any feedback hugely appreciated. I really want to book room in the next couple of days.

My visit with them was two yrs ago in a tower room so it's alittle out of date..but I really liked them. It was convenient, the buses ran well enough, the staff was very nice and it was ideally priced. If you can, do one of the Mystery Dinners it was entertaining and fun!

Enjoy...

PS..I'm trying out the Royal Plaza our next trip in October..it's also in DTD and reasonably priced.

A friend of mine is there now. She called me last night and said it is very nice. She must have gotten an updated room. She is not in the tower. Her son is 21 and he loves it. In fact :rotfl: he said he would rather stay there for now on than onsite :lmao: I am laughing and the reason is, he likes it better because he doesn't have to pay for the internet :lmao: She did say that she got the $79 rate, but she was charged the $10 room fee.... so really, you are paying for the internet... :confused3 At least that is how I am looking at it. There is a mini fridge, but no microwave.. so I guess that fee covers the net & fridge.. which is a decent deal when you think of it.
I stayed there years ago, and when I was there, it wasn't the greatest place.. it was like a motel.. so I guess they are improving it.. and it is worth the money.. my friend isn't what you call a big spender.....;) So if she likes it, it has to be a good deal.....

We just stayed there for 1 night 2 weeks ago before checking into SSR. We stayed in the tower facing DTD. I didn't notice if the room was renovated or not. It was clean, a little small with 2 double beds and the staff was very nice. I paid $72 which included the resort fee. The construction we saw was in the lobby, which made check in an absolute joy :rolleyes1 and the pool area was also being renovated.

Be careful when checking in that you tell them that you do NOT want charging rights to your room. I wasn't asked if we wanted it and they gave it anyway. They put a $2000 hold on my checking account for 4 days after I checked out. We were only there for 1 night, my DH almost had a cow! :faint:
