Does anyone know when room rennovations are to begin & end?

Anyone have any information about this; I read on one post that room rehabs were to be completed by 12/07, but that they hadn't begun yet.

They finished Conch a bit ago. They were working on the main building RPC concierge rooms last I heard - they are probably nearing that completion if not already finished. Somebody whispered in my ear that they started working on Big Pine, but not 100% sure if that's correct info. For an October stay, I don't know if I'd count on a new room. I am sure EVERYBODY and their brother wants one and since Conch is the only lodge completed (with the concierge exceptions) it doesn't appear promising, but you never know... it is a possibility.

Sugar Loaf concierge is supposed to close in Sept/Oct. And I also heard the rehab was supposed to be completed 12/07.

Now I'm beginning to understand why there is hardly any availability for my October dates...they may have rooms out of circulation! Makes sense now!

When I was there in the beginning of August they were working on Pine Key, but only the outside. My room was 9310 and I did not see anything going on inside.

Our (UK) travel agent sent me a letter advising that there would be work while we are there (November) which was due to be finished in December 2007.

When I booked a GV for 11/30 they read me the "official disclaimer" that there was a strong likelihood that hallway carpeting would be being replaced during our stay but that it would not affect our stay.

I actually just moved to the GF from the Poly using a code (saved me a whopping $846!!). I will be there from 10/16-10/20. Now I have more $$ to spend while there! Anyway, the CM told me that she needed to let me know that they will doing refurbishments on carpets during my stay. Didn't say where though. I'm hoping I didn't make a wrong decision by switching! I kind of have a bad feeling. I'm hoping it's just excitement nerves.... Before I switched I heard of all these people staying at the Poly, but now that I have switched to GF I haven't heard of too many people commenting on their stay at that time at the GF?!
