Our Platinum passes were expiring later this month, so I figured I'd go ahead and renew them now while I was thinking about it (and had the cash). Busch Gardens Williamsburg opens this weekend, and we're in that area.
I went online and renewed the passes. The web site showed me that the current passes were valid through 3/30/2007.
I just got the new passes in the mail today. Rather than expiring 3/30/2007, as I expected, they now expire 3/16/2009 -- two years from the date I renewed, rather than two years from the original expiration date.
Now, this isn't a big deal in our case because it's just a matter of a week. But for anyone else who is under the assumption that every park does pass renewals the same way Disney does (adding the additional year(s) onto the original expiration date), this could be a rude awakening if you renewed in advance for an upcoming trip.
I wouldn't even have noticed, except I've been scrutinizing all the paperwork closely trying to resolve a mistake they made -- both new tickets came with my name on them. According to the folks on the phone, I need to spend some quality with guest relations on our next visit.
