renew passport

Just wondering about passports. Ours run out Mach and April 2010 but we plan on going out to Florida Dec this year. I have picked up passport applications but was told the price is £72.00 per adult. This is the same price as a new one and does seem to be expensive. Does anyone know if we renew now will the months we have left be added on to the new one?

We had three or four months added last time we renewed so I know they add some but I think I remember it being six months maximum. As they don't take long to return them nowadays (we got ours back in a week) you might do as well waiting till later in the year to renew

They will add on upto 9 months

If you go to the Passport service website it has the pricing/information and you can also complete the application form online and they post it to you all completed to sign

The cost is very annoying just another tax on the traveller but what choice do you have.!

Yes you're right the cost is annoying and again you need a passport to travel. It seems so unfair that we have to pay so much.
