No, as a matter of fact the Raven's are not from Cleveland - the Browns are from Cleveland. The Indianapolis Colts, however, are from Baltimore.

Frankly, I think this is a dumb idea. This is like asking the Kansas City Royals to name their stadium after Catfish Hunter or Reggie Jackson!

I have lived in Baltimore area for most of my life and I had the pleasure of meeting Johnny Unitas several times. Although I believe that he was the best at what he did, I think that naming the stadium after him just to immortalize him is wrong. JMHO.

I think it is an honor to name a stadum after an athlete from a town. It does lose some of the impact because it is now the home of a different franchise. But Johnny Unitas was a player who made such an impact on the game he should be honored in some way.

You are right, Baltimore is home to a different francise - but Johnny Unitas has been a huge supporter & influence of the Baltimore Ravens. He was a mentor to the current quarterback, Chris Redman ....and he stood on the sidelines almost every game. This is about Baltimore & honoring a great american & the greatest quarterback in the history of the game. What is a better name for a stadium - Unitas Field or Platex Stadium?
