Renaissance Orlando Resort at SeaWorld

I have been wanting to try to get a room for November 2007 and the dates are not available yet...only out to the end of October right now, but when I attempt to get rooms in September and October of 2007...their booked. I tried this on Sherton's site, called their reservation group and on Expedia.

Is this common for this resort to be booked this far in advance?

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn last time since Renaissance Orlando Resort at SeaWorld was booked and if this is the case again does anyone know of a nice place to stay which is clean and has multiple places on site to eat at too?

We just made our reservation at the Sea World Renaissance. It appears their site puts out incorrect response messages to users. Through observation it appears they put the calendar in the system months prior to them actually linking rates and availability table. This misleads users to perceive the hotel is booked. Also, employees who respond to inquiries have little and narrow undestanding of how their system works and accurately informing users when loads actual occur. They also can not tell you why their system displays no rooms...if it is the system or a conference, etc.

It was OK. We ended up with a view of Sea World. The room was clean, but it had a certain feel...narrow halls, condensed lobby area etc...just trying to put too much in too small of a building.

I would not recommend the restaurant in the lobby...average to below average food. The morning buffet is overpriced, small selection and they cover the food in saran wrap when we were there. Over cooking on the morning breakfast was another issue. Dinner was below average.

Clean to a certain level. Carpets and bedspread I would consider less than clean. The bathrooms, as my memory recalls, were OK. We did not use the pool or gym.

Walking distance...well yes and no. The Rennaissance is in walking distance while if the Hilton advertised walking-distance would receive consumer complaints. Note there some type of low security detention facility right behind the Hilton which is part of your Sea World view...just didn't fit into the vacation theme.

With two young children...we drove over and parked. This year we will walk over from the Renaissance.
