Is there any news on this yet? I know it is supposed to open Oct 1st. Will it be a normal line (hopefully) or will it be this nonsense virtual queue that fills up on 2 seconds and has loving universal? I plan to drive up and take the kids so I'm hoping they allow all to ride who are willing to wait.

Nothing official has been announced. Personally I'm anticipating there will be a virtual queue but that's only speculation on my part.

Most people seem to think it won't have a VQ. It is needed at RotR because of how advanced the ride is and it can be unreliable at times. Remy is a clone of an existing ride and likely won't have those issues. MMRR opened after and didn't have it, so I don't really see any reason to think this would.

Just because it might not need one doesn’t mean they still wouldn’t implement one. A lot has changed since MMRR opened, even if it was not that long ago.

Mickey and Minnie is almost the same ride as well. I don't see how ROTR breaks more than MMRR. Hopefully it has a normal wait. I don't mind a virtual wait like DAS which they should have put in years ago anyway, but queues that fill up in seconds and promote upset people at the parks is not the way to run things.

Have you ridden Rise? Its not even close to the same thing. There's a whole lot more to it than just the trackless ride portion (which is mostly similar, but still has differences).

I doubt it will have a virtual queue. It's the same ride at Disneyland Paris and doesn't have near the reliability issues as does ROTR. Also, Mickey's and Minnie's Runaway Railway never has had a virtual queue and can have some longer waits but Remi is the same type of ride, so I doubt it.

Agreed, I will gladly be wrong. But I just really don't see why it would. And most of the people who talk about rumors and such tend to agree.

Yes 5 times. Vehicles are similar, even the parts that simulate falling are similar. Obviously there are other parts, but I don't see it being all that much different. Disney IMHO should close the ride until they can do it with a normal queue or a virtual queue that doesn't fill up in seconds.

You know there's a part that actually does drop then, not just simulates. The whole preshow portion and all the moving parts inside. Not a good comparison.
Remy and MMRR are much, much, much more similar

Web slingers in california just opened up with only a vq so it is a possibility. I am hoping this isn't a permanent trend.

How is the webslingers queue, the same 1 second nonsene like ROTR?
Both are pretty much gone in 10 seconds at the morning drop. The noon drop lasts longer. Today it was 3 minutes for both Rise and WS at the noon drop.

Speculation, but I think it will come down to space and if the queue is able to handle a larger crowd. I know it isn't Disney, but at Universal the Jimmy Fallon ride has very little queue space and it is a slow loading/low capacity ride so they do virtual queue even though the ride isn't very popular. On the other hand, MMRR has a lot of room to accommodate an overflow queue so no VQ. Also at Universal, they do VQ on Hagrid's so as to not block the virtual asthetics of Hogsmeade, which I have a sneaking suspicion is also why they do it on ROTR (along with the frequent breakdowns due to the advanced ride system).

VQ must be recent on Hagrids. When we went in 2019, it was normal line. Jimmy Fallon is quite popular depending on who you speak to, my kids love that ride even though they have no idea what the tonight show is.

Hagrid's has had a virtual queue since 2019, but it is not used all times of the day. Typically each morning the first hour or so is open to standby, then it transitions to VQ for the rest of the day as time allows.

Lately they haven’t been using it at all.

Yeah, that one it switches back and forth. If the queue area can handle the people, they just do Standby. If it starts spilling out into Hogsmeade, they activate VQ. With the social distancing they used the VQ a lot more, but it seems that now that they don't have to space people out as much, the line is in standby more often. I also think because Velocicoaster is open now and sucks away some people. They will also periodically activate VQ for Mummy when the overflow area in front gets to long.

I really think it will depend on how much queue space Remy has and if they have room to handle overflow crowd that doesn't clog up France. Thinking of Slinky and FOP, they are able to pretty easily manage the overflow along the pathways without impacting traffic flow to much which is probably why neither of those have VQ either.
