Hopefully Remy will only have VQ like Hagrid’s does.... only when needed. I don’t have a vacation planned at the moment, but sure am looking forward to seeing Remy when we do go!

Same here. I don’t necessarily mind is there is some VQ, but I don’t want to have to have four Epcot days just to try to ride it—since I already have to have four HS days to try to ride ROTR!! (Haven’t been since GE opened. Tried to wait on Guardians but we all see how that worked out….)
Hopefully its not a VQ for Remy. I would not want to have more than one Epcot morning reservation with the late opening! If not a VQ, it probably will make it much easy to get on Frozen at RD.
I doubt it. The Oct 1 date isn't just random--it's significant. They want to say that they opened a new ride on the 50th anniversary. I could see an off-duty CM preview, which is something they've done for other recent ride openings, but they want to hold the big reveal until opening day.
As for VQ, I think it is likely. It is a smart way to get people to book park passes at Epcot and it also helps to redistribute crowds throughout the day rather than people banking on hopping at 2pm and getting in line.
