Remy/Palo...worth it?

Palo brunch and dinner both cost $30 per person.

I prefer the brunch. But dinner is OK.

I've gone to Remy dinner once. It was worth it for the experience and I would do it again, but not every time I'm on the ship. I've done Palo brunch and for the life of me couldn't tell you a thing about it. Not that it was bad, I remember a positive experience, but Remy stands out more than Palo.

We've done dinner at Remy twice (best meals I've ever had).

We've done Palo brunch once, it was really nice.

We've done Palo for dinner twice. Enjoyed it the first time although I though it could not compare to Remy at all. The second time was excellent.

I still prefer dinner over brunch at Palo but I would do both.

I would pick Remy over Palo any time, though.

During our last cruise we have done Palo brunch AND dinner and Remy. It was amazing and well worth the extra $.

I think "worth it" is subjective and has to do with how much you enjoy fine dining. If you love fine dining and don't mind spending a couple hours sitting at a table in a restaurant, it is well worth it as you'd spend much more than that at a restaurant on land. To me, no matter how great a dinner or restaurant is, I don't like to sit at a table for 2 hours. It will never be worth it for me.

our opinion is that if you're typically into trying the best fine dining restaurants at home or whenever you travel in the US, then remy and palo will be good but not amazing, especially if you were to compare them to the michelin and high end restaurants around the nation. they're good experiences to have on the boat (and good date night options away from kids) if you happen to have extra $ to splurge. we will not be going to them again on the next cruise though having tried them once already.

having said that though, i think it's worth experiencing at least once. with the add on fee we saw it as a steal since fine dining is typically much more expensive on land

We do Palo at least once each cruise. It's nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the MDRs. Plus, no kids.

Palo brunch is wonderful, we always do at least one per cruise.
Dinner is great too, wouldn't miss it.
Remy brunch, dinner and dessert experience are very good and enjoyable.
But my first choice is Palo.

Like others have said, the experience and value is totally up to your perception. For us, it was not worth it because, like cruisehopeful, sitting at a table for 3 1/2 hours (our last Palo dinner) is not something I want to do on a cruise -- or anytime! I will say that I would encourage everyone to try it at least one time, especially if you like quiet meals and good service.

We've dined at Remy on both our cruises. Remy is definitely "worth it" and was easily as good as if not better than the Michelin starred restaurants we've had the good fortune and pleasure of dining at. It easily compares favorably in atmosphere, service and gastronomy to the finest restaurants in the world. I have no hesitation booking Remy again nor recommending it to anyone. Never tried Palo but will when we sail the Magic next Spring.

In my opinion - Remy (both brunch and dinner) is excellent, Palo brunch is very good, but dinner is very average. Having done Palo dinner twice, I probably wouldn't do it again - very average.

I'd rank them like this:

Remy Dinner
Remy Brunch
Palo Brunch
Palo Dinner (some way behind)

I didn't care for Palo dinner the first cruise we did it on. Since then the menu has changed for dinner (fairly recently). We did dinner again this last cruise, and I thought it was good. Much better than what I had before, but not totally top grade.

We haven't done Remy (sorry, but the cost just stops me), so I can't rank those.

We have only done Palo. We really have liked the brunch, but the dinner was just ok for us. The food was good enough, but that style of dining isn't for our family, we much preferred the more relaxed brunch. We actually like the atmosphere of the mdrs.

I think Remy Brunch and Dinner are experiences/meals you will remember for a long time and definitely worth the $. I've never done Palo brunch but I though Palo Dinner was just OK. Worth it? Very subjective but I would probably eat there again just to not have to eat in the MDRs.

I prefer eating the MDR's on the night that they serve their cuisine. Any of the themed night including Pirate Night would be my night to book Palo or Remy. I really like the brunch at Palo but do not like where they now fill your buffet plates for you. The DW wants to get her own food. The DW could take or leave Palo Dinner, I am the foodie of us. We have never eaten at Remy, can't pay that much for a meal.

Hey, everyone - in case you haven't heard, it seems that DCL is testing a printed menu (instead of the displayed sample dishes) for the ordered part of the Palo brunch. This is happening on the Wonder currently. And there's been some changes - no more grape and gorgonzola pizza, no strawberry soup. They've added a molten lava cake and lasagna.

We had brunch and dinner at Palo on the Wonder this summer. 4 foodie couples went and while I wouldn't call it amazing it was significantly better then the meals we had in the dining rooms. So, for us it was worth it for a pretty good meal!
