Hi All,
I am not sure where to post this, but I figured this might be a group of like-minded people who have solutions to problems.
When in Florida we slather on the sunscreen, but I'm getting annoyed with the stains that have appeared on some of my favourite gear.
How do you remove these yellowed stains?
We just got back and my favourite swimsuit coverup won't come clean. I've tried Barkeeper's Friend and dishwashing detergent. Didn't work.
Help!
Thanks in advance!

Last year I had on a sleeveless chiffon blouse and needed to reapply sunscreen at MK, all I had with me was spray on sunscreen so some of it ended up getting on my blouse and staining it, the only thing I could do was let it sit for a few days until we got home. At home I put some baby powder on the blouse and rubbed it into the stain, then sprinkled more over the surface of the blouse and let it sit for about 30-60 minutes (has to be J&J cornstarch baby powder) and then I washed the blouse (no dryer) and hung it to dry. You might have the repeat the process a couple of times and make sure not to dry the garment or it will set in the stain. However, this did get the stain out of my blouse and it was as good as new!

Hope that helps!

I would look in the store for either Carbona stain devils (in the laundry aisle, little yellow bottles....the come in different formulas for different types of stains. Read the labels, one of them might actually list sunscreen)

This chart actually says Carbona #7 (motor oil & lubricant) is recommended for sunscreen & oil:

I used Shout spray on ours. I sprayed it once then let it sit for a few hours then sprayed again before washing.

I haven't had any luck, OP.

I think the spray on sunscreen is the culprit. My husbands work tee shirts are a mess (not that they weren't gross before). I actually didn't see the stain until they went through a load wash and were bleached. The came out sunshine yellow around the neck, but the pit stains washed out. I used shout the second time around and try to shout the collars of his golf shirst before they get washed the first time. I also wondered if it was some sort or reaction with the detergent that had baking soda in it and the sunscreen. I used tide on wash number 2.
