I just purchased a stuff toy dog on e-bay. Upon receiving it, it was obvious that whoever sent it lived with a smoker because the box smelled badly of smoke. The toy itself had been "drenched" with some kind of horrible perfume, I suppose to disguise the smoke odor. I have tried airing it out and spraying with Febreeze, to no avail. It is for my daughter who is a bit asthmatic. I am asthmatic and this thing sends me into fits. It is disgusting. Does anyone know of a sure way (besides washing) to remove an odor from a stuffed toy? I only wish they had left the smokey smell. That would have gone away with some airing out!!!!

I was going to say Fabreeze...

If it can't be washed... what about tossed in the dryer with fabric softner sheets?? or can it not be dried either??

good luck... i'd leave it outside as much as you can ...

If it was misrepresented on Ebay you might request a refund. A smoky or perfume-doused stuffed animal would be useless to me because of severe allergies. I'd have to throw it out or send it back.
