Removing microwave odors????

Just wondering if anyone knows how to remove odors from the microwave. I made popcorn the other night, now ever time I use my microwave it smells like popcorn. I tried cleaning out with 409 and that didn't work. Then I put a bowl of water with lemon juice in it and it smelled a little better so I did it again and some how ended up burning it so now it smells even worse. Any advice?

Clean the inside of the microwave after each use. Boil 1 cup of water in a 2-cup measure in the microwave for several minutes. Wipe the inside of the oven cavity with a paper towel or sponge. The steam will condense on the oven surfaces and make cooked-on foods easier to remove. If the oven still retains an odor, boil ½ cup of lemon juice and one cup of water in a bowl for several minutes. Let stand in the oven for 5 or 6 minutes before wiping it out.

Try microwaving a bowl of white vinegar. I think I heard somewhere that it will take away the odor.

I did the same thing a few months ago. This works - crumple up newspaper and wet it, stuff it in micro and leave it overnight. When you take it out in the AM it will reek of the popcorn smell. Keep repeating until odor is gone.

What I usually do to get rid of odors (any kind of odors) is to put some coffee grounds (fresh... not used) in a bowl and leave it overnight. The coffee grounds will absorb the smell.

Another tip I've done is to put a cup of water with a tablespoon of vanilla extract in it, microwave it for a couple minutes and then leave it, with the door closed, for about an hour. It will smell great after that!

Nuke an onion and a few garlic cloves, no more popcorn smell.

Have you ever just left the door open overnight - it works for some odours!
