I currently have the dining plan booked for Dec. but I am considering removing it at this time. Can I do this with no problems? I only have a 200$ down payment made at this time. Also if I decide before I travel that I am better off with it can I call back to add it once again? I am hoping between now and Dec. that Disney adds the free dining option for a value season.

I think you would have to call and see what they say. I was told if I downgraded , there would be a $50 charge.

There's no penalty charge if you change your package or cancel it before 45 days. I just cancelled my package yesterday & switched to room only & receiving my full credit back.

You can always keep things the way they are & add the code to your existing reservation.

:goodvibes When I was initially booking I was given time frames in regards to making changes and the charges that applied, I had up until 45 days until my vacation dates to make any changes or cancel without incurring a $50.00 charge, the fee increased as my vacation dates approached. I was really trying to do my research on the dining plan and the CM I spoke with asked we give them at least 3 days notice if we wanted to add the dining plan and no matter when the dining plan was added there weren't any additional fees tacked on. I did add the dining plan about 5 days before we left without any problems.

Glad I did too, we ate at wonderful restaurants that I wouldn't have normally tried because of the prices, we did eat way too much food though :goodvibes

We are a family of 3 (one 7 year old boy). I just am not sure if we would really spend as much as we would pay for the meal plan. We are not extravagent eaters. We just want decent quality food. We are there mainly for the attractions as this is our first trip to WDW. Like a lot of people we would probably eat a lot ( maybe too much) because we already have it paid for. But now if Disney was to offer it free, I am sure I would be the first to call and request it...lol. We are paying full price for the room as well (Pop) with the seven day Magic Plus tickets, so we may wait and see if a better offer comes along.

You could always go over to http://www.allearsnet.com/din/dining.htm and look at the dining prices. You'd be surprised at how quickly the $$$ adds up especially when you throw in a sit down meal or two. Plus don't forget the tax and tip are covered in the meal plan.
