What is a good way to remove body odor from clothes. I have teenage boys. I wash clothes every time they wear. They DO wear deoderent but there is still a smell under the pits at times (notice when I iron). This is on golf shirts, etc. so it is colors so bleach is not an option. I do use downy and stuff.

Thanks!

I use oxyclean - it works fantastic on odors, but some people are very sensitive to oxyclean and get a rash.

I use baking soda to get rid of musty smells and pet smells; it might work on body odor too.

how much vinegar or oxy clean? Just dump it right in??

I was just thinking to myself how ripe the Lacrosse gear is getting,I'll be trying the ideas

If it's really bad, you may want to soak the clothes first in a white vinegar & water solution. I usually do about 1 cup to 1 gallon of water. Seriously, the white vinegar really gets rid of the body odor smell.

If you're only noticing it when you iron.. I would stop ironing.

Have them shower?

j/k... ;)

Ha ha ha....yep they do shower...after every practice, sports then again that night so I am doing towels and clothes all the time.

THANKS for the replies...will try the vinegar first! For anyone who has smelly shoes (soccer cleats are the worse) if you put alcohol (RUBBING not drinking:rotfl:) in them and let it dry it gets rid of the stink. We had smelly shoes for years (I am talking like cat box smell--we have a kitty so I know that smell) that would get left in cars. Finally found that on some site and I swear by it...gets rid of that nasty smell.

Wish I could! It is something I hate doing but do it so the clothes don't look like they rolled out of bed. I know lots of people don't iron but I do it! The golf shirts are the polyester type stuff (wicking) so those don't get ironed but cotton tshirts and all other clothes do!

It is not terrible and when they wear you don't smell but when I iron and smell it I figured I needed to do something. They really are clean boys who smell nice...and clothes smell nice too. I just don't want them to smell smell from clothes!

Alcohol for cleats huh, OK, I have some STINKY ones just waiting to be deskunked. This does make sense, I am convinced alcohol is the main ingredient in that Nature's Miracle pet stuff.
