Removing acrylic nails

I would like to get rid of my acrylic nails. Do any of my fellow DIS ladies have any ideas?

Soak them in pure acetone nail polish remover. It will take a while though....good luck!!!

I would suggest growing them out. Go to your nail person and have him/her cut them down and file them. Then just grow your own nails and keep having a manicure until they are gone. That way, it's your healthy nail growing in. Even if you soak them off, your nails underneath are still going to be thin and brittle and probably tender. It will take you a while but that is really the healthiest way to do it.

Ughh...I always hated doing this. I would soak mine and then gently try to peel them off. Like a PP said, your nails are going to be tender. I have vowed to only get manicures from now on.

acetone polish remover will be the fastest way to get rid of them. It's the easiest too. If you have been wearing them for a while, or the person filed too much when they were put on (common), they will be VERY tender and sore; just a bit tender and sore if done right. I'd put a clear, nail hardener on them to protect them until it all grows out. Also, keep them short until they are completely grown out.

Clip the top portion off and then soak them in acetone. It's the least painful way to do it.
