When we bought our brick we were also offered this!
Wow, I love it. I don't remember being offered (or even seeing)the glass version.
We got our brick (and a few for others for gifts) when they were first offered.. Ours is near the monorail walkway by the pole in that small roped off area. It is still in great condition since it is not often walked on. We visit it when we are in WDW. I would hate to see it go. If they do maybe we will be able to get them back (for a price of course) but probably not, since it would mean a careful removal of each brick.
