Remote car starter?? COST???

We have a home health aide that come to take care of DS in the morning and get him ready and on the bus for school...I really would like to get him a remote car starter for his car since he has to go out to a cold, snowy car in the winter after DS has got on the bus. Anyone know about how much this is? Is it hard to install? Are they worth the money????? He drives a Huyandi if that is of any help.

I purchased an off the market starter at an auto store for my DH approx 2-4 years ago and it was about $350-400 installed.

We just had a dealership install a new starter (Ford) in my 2010 Edge and it was $480 installed.

My husband used to do that for a living and could give you a good ball park figure if you could tell us the model & year of the car as well. And if there are any other features he wants as well or just the remote starter.

We have one and it is really nice to have in the FL heat as well!

We live in Alaska so I feel your pain. We paid almost $700 for a Viper but it was a REALLY nice set up. It had all the bells and whistles. Worth every penny

Mine's being installed Wed. It's between 400 and 500 dollars.

It's totally worth it if you need to warm your car up. Just make sure you leave the car with the settings that you'll want.

ie when you park your car, set the heater full blast and the defrosters on. The car starter just starts the engine and when my mom first got hers she would start it then go out and the windows were still iced over because the defroster wasn't on.

Oh and she uses it in the summer as well. That way the leather seats are cooled off.

I got mine installed 2 years ago and it was only $250. And that's in NJ! I love it, totally worth every last penny!!!!
