Remodled cabins

Looks like the TV is there.

you could always spell out what the site was i.e. Disneyworld dot com If that's against the rules we won't tell :)

Jim - copy and paste just the last part of that link and it will take you to the thread. I want don't want to post the name of the other discussion board just in case it's not allowed. There are a few more pictures of the bathroom/bedroom, etc.

Also, I'm going to assume proper credit for the photos above go to katman1356jason (per that link). :)

I love the fact that there's actually seating in the living room that the whole family can use. In the past, you had a love seat for two people and that was it. One of us always sat at the kitchen table and my daughter hung out in the bedroom. Now we have a couch for 3 plus the chair, so all 4 of us can sit together and hang out. I actually didn't want to stay in the cabins for a long stay any more because of the lack of seating, so I'm glad they fixed that.

We used to like making Stouffer's casseroles for dinner so we'll miss the oven, but we'll live. I think we can live with 2 burners too, although I'm sure we've used more than that on occasion.

Overall, very happy with the upgrades.

We arrive 11/14 so I can see what's going on then with the cabins. I requested 2100 loop. We have never stayed there so I can't compare any real life experience but I'll post any news or pictures.

I agree on the seating - a big plus. However, we will miss the murphy and loveseat combo. My kids actually ENJOYED sleeping on the loveseat.

Altogether, I'm more pleased than not. Not a fan of the mod patterned/colored couch, too much empty space still left in murphy bed area (needs more something...more cabinets, bigger TV), and loss of the pantry. That was good height/depth space. Love everything else and LOVE the dark wood flooring throughout...even into the bedroom!

2100 loop is currently being refurbished, so hopefully it will be newly ready when you get there :)

I'm crossing fingers my loop will be done when we arrive in a few weeks...

CORRECTION - loop 2200 is currently being remodeled, not 2100.

That's called getting around the filter. It's against the rules. I might have done that when I was a newbie.

I would love to know if they're switching out the double bed for a Queen bed. I'd love to stay there sometime but my husband and I may end up divorced if we have to spend a week sleeping on a double bed!

I just don't think there is room. If you look at the bedroom pic the edge of a queen would cover some of the window and there wouldn't be enough room to get in and out of the bunk beds.

In the thread on the other site it does say that the bed is now a queen in cabins 2201-2244

No happy with the remodel.....not at all :(

...
As far as the kitchen goes, where's the pantry? What happened to the full sized stove? So they know offer a glass top mini cook top? I preferred the full sized oven for cooking meals. Am I suppose to microwave everything now? We haven't had a science oven (microwave) in 10 plus years.

I've read on other boards that the new microwave is also a convection oven. My microwave/convection oven works really well and I can fit a 12" x 18" pan in it so I can bake or roast most of the same foods in there that I can in my full-size oven.

I agree; it's hard to imagine that a queen would fit in there.

I read yesterday that the mattresses were replaced with new ones (nothing about queen), so that led me to believe that the size remained the same, at least in the bedroom. But could be wrong...

Permit filed says completion date is April 2016.

A queen mattress is only 6" wider than a double so there would still be room to get in and out of the bunk beds. However, looking at the before and after pictures, it appears as though they are still using the same headboards on the bed and it doesn't look like the mattress is wider than the headboard, so I suspect the bed is still a double. Maybe the pullout sofa in the living room is a queen-size sleeper????

Yea I was also thinking that as I recall the bunk beds were of the type that the lower bunk was wider than the top and if they were replaced with beds that had a narrower bottom bunk.

Now I haven't been in a cabin since 1999 but I recall that there were cabins at that time that had a queen in the bedroom and the murphy bed and it only slept 4. I just remember I had to make sure we didn't get one of those since we had 6 in our cabin.

Speaking of remodeled cabins, did they ever build the larger cabins?

A few years ago they were talking about replacing some if not all cabins with a different "L" shaped design.

We just got back from our trip on Friday. We had a refurbished cabin in loop 2200. We found it to be very nice. The microwave was a convection oven (although we never used it). The new sleeper sofa comfortably slept two adults, so I believe it was probably a queen size, although I never checked to confirm. The bed in the bedroom is still a double. The extra storage space under the TV where the murphy bed was previously was so nice to have, as we had 5 adults and needed the extra storage :thumbsup2

Overall pretty nice. At first I did feel like the couch pattern seemed out of place, but it definitely lightened the room up. Also, if you look closely at the new curtains you can see tree silhouettes on them, which I thought tied into the forest/wilderness theme pretty well, even though it was subtle.
