get a penicillin shot ever again. OMG - my butt is killing me. It's after midnight, I have to get up at 5:30, I have tonisillitis and need my sleep. I can't sleep, though, because every time I shift, pain shoots through my butt.

I'll take a shot over a pill any day, particularly when ill. I will start feeling better from my illness within hours after a shot, but days with pills. Plus, I'm forgetful. It's the reason I have to take the depo-shot. Too many close calls .

Is it supposed to hurt this bad? I don't have a very high pain threshhold, but geez.

Take something for pain and put a hot washcloth that you warmed and put in a baggy to place under your bottom. The heat always helps me at injection sites. Hope you feel better.
