Remembering extinct foods

I miss Dunkaroos too! I guess you can just take some kind of cookie and slather it with frosting, but it's not the same (but cookies and frosting are just delicious, period, no matter what form!).

There was this one snack my parents always packed my sister and me for school lunch ... it looked like pieces of Chex cereal with frosting inside! What were these?

I LOVED :lovestruc:love: Pepsi Blue. If I may be so bold as to ask for even one more bottle, I'd just drink one drop everyday and try to make it last as long as possible! Please reintroduce this now!

Oreo O's cereal. This was my favorite. :(

Morton use to make a mini doughnut that you would bake in the oven, those little doughnuts were so yummy. Also, Old El Paso use to make corn tortillas in the can that you would fry for a bit, fold over and fill with taco meat. They were so good. Emailed Old El Paso a few years ago to see if they still made them. I was told since they were fried they were considered not healthy and it the product was discontinued.

Does anyone remember a chocolate chip boxed cake mix? My mom would make that for me when I was a little girl on my birthdays.... It was soooo good. I'm sure I could re-create it ....but i just LOVE boxed cake mixes..lol....they are so easy:thumbsup2

Talk about taking a walk down memory lane, I remember most of the items mentioned.

I miss:

Watermelon Bub's Daddy Bubble Gum
Original Whatchamacallit Candy Bars (without the caramel)
Banquet Boiling Bags (we called them Cookin' Bags) The Chicken ala King, Roast Beef and the Chipped Beef. YUM!!!!!!!!
Bun Bars are my absolute FAVORITE and since moving to FL I can't find them anywhere.

I remember the shake a pudding. Didn't it come with a brown cup that had a domed lid? You would put in the pudding and milk and then shake it up?

Hey, 50 isn't THAT old!!!! If you remember space food sticks, do you also remember shake a pudding? My mom would never buy either of them, so it was something I couldn't wait to buy for my family when I grew up. Problem was they no longer made them when I grew up!

Betty Crocker used to have this as recently as a few years ago-I actually thought they still did, but I checked online and no luck.

I miss the German Chocolate Snackin' Cakes Betty Crocker used to make a few years ago.

Anyone remember those taffy sticks (made by Air heads, Laffy Taffy, or one of those taffy candies) from the late 80s-early 90s that were watermelon flavored and had little chocolate cookie "seeds"? I miss those :(

Stouffers makes a chipped beef in the bag that is really good. I do mine in the microwave but you can boil it as well.

Someone who mentioned Coke with real sugar, I was in Target in San Diego last week and they were selling Coke and Mountain Dew with real sugar. I thought it was just the old stuff they were trying to sell but my friend said it was this "New" retro thing they were trying out. We almost bought some, but opted for Fresca instead.

Also, these aren't that old, but I sure do miss the Spice Girl lollipops. They were amazing! PLUS they had a sticker inside! A lollipop and a sticker?! My 5/6th grade-self was VERY happy.

ETA: I take back the Coke with real sugar, it was Pepsi. Sorry!

Seriously...what are pudding pops, suzy-Qs and anything else mentioned? Should I put in a complaint to my parents for not giving me high fructose corn syrup? Maybe if they had given it to me earlier in life, I would go crazy with it now.

I'm from Wisconsin too and I know these things. I don't know what a moon pie is though. I'm probably too young.

Does anyone else remember Coco Wheats? It was like chocolate cream of wheat. I would POUR the sugar on that stuff. Yummy!.

I eat Coco Wheats still! :goodvibes It's like chocolate oatmeal. It's really good if you add a 1/4 of milk extra so they are a little runny. Add the sugar on top but don't mix it in.

I also loved Strawberry Shortcake Cereal. I can still remember the commercial with Strawberry Shortcake talking to the sun and she would say "It's berry delicious!" at the end.

We got this popsicle maker at Christmas called Zoku that makes popsicles in under 10 minutes. We can make pudding pops and DS loves them. We layer the chocolate and vanilla just like the old ones.

Candy Cigarettes (puffed on them like they were real);)
Fizzies
Bubble Gum Cigars
Cherry Mash (Yum):)
Necco Wafers
Wax Lips
:cloud9:

OMG!! Shake a Puddin!
"Shake, Shake , Shake a Puddin"
"Shake it on the Go" "Shake it when you Know"
"Come on everybody lets all Shake a Puddin"
:laughing::banana::angel:
I even had my own shaker. That was really up town. And it was GOOD!

You can still get Necco Wafers (at least here in Montana). They are in the candy display at the front of the store by the cash registers in JoAnn fabrics and Crafts. I stocked them many times when I worked there...nasty little buggers...

Wow! I remember the Shake a pudding! That brings back memories. And was the coffee syrup by chance, Coffee Tyme? They don't sell it around here anymore, just some other brand that doesn't even measure up!
