Here she is. All grown up!!

She is full fledged member of our family...no intentions on releasing her. She seems to be quite happy and has never shown any signs of aggression or "wilding out". :D Whenever I would take her outside, she would become so afraid that I knew it would not be an option. She has a little house all set up but also has "floor time" for a few hours a day (as I sit at the computer, she keeps running over my feet!) She eats pellets and hay but does love the cheerios we give her as snacks! Someone forgot to give her the memo that rabbits are supposed to like things like carrots and lettuce! I think she has spent so much time with my kids, she thinks she is one of them! :p She still has the cat in her control....the cat is terrified of her and when she has floor time, Sabrina makes sure she is either out of the room or sitting up on the couch, out of Thumper's reach!! She will come to you (like a puppy!) if you call her and have cheerios in hand! ::yes:: If you put your hand in her box, she comes up to you and nuzzles your palm, looking for munchies!

We don't know what to expect this winter. The local wild rabbits hibernate but I don't know if it's instinct or just because the weather gets cold. We'll find out I guess. Her appetite has really grown lately. She is back up in the middle of the night looking for food!! :earseek: Believe me, if she is hungry and there is no food in her box, there is no way you can ignore her!! :bounce:

How adorable!! While I'm usually not in favor of taking in wild animals, it sounds like Thumper would not have made it much longer on her own. I'm glad she found a warm and loving family to take such good care of her!!

She's all grown up! I remember when she was just a wee bunny baby :D

She's gorgoeous!!!

From personal experience and the experince of my wildlife friends it is very hard to raise a wild bunny without it's mama esp one so darn small. But you've done sucha wonderful job! Congratulations :)

I was wondering about Thumper just the other day. I am glad that she is doing so well. The stories are so funny. Isn't funny how animals think they are a part of the family and start to take over just like a kid. Keep us up to date on how she does.

Another cute bunny story....

As Thumper was hopping around the living floor today, she started to sniff the bottom of the couch where my husband sits. He gives her the cheerios in the evening when she has floor time with the family. :D I guess she could smell him and she stood up on her back legs, trying to see the cushions of the couch. I guess she thought he was sitting up there or something! :p She would not leave that spot! I lifted her up and placed her on the couch and she worked her little nose double time! :Pinkbounc It wasn't til she was finally sure that he wasn't up there did she finally go back down onto the floor and hop around the room again! ::yes:: Ain't no one gonna cheat her out of a cheerio!!

She is the cutest thing!:lovestruc: Now I want a bunny too! She reminds me of a stuffed bunny I had when I was younger, her name was Bun-Bun...I miss her now...lol

Waffles,
Thumper has a bit of a history here on the DIS. The folks here were absolutely essential in her survival!! She was no bigger than a hamster and couldn't even sit up on her own when I first found her....her mom abandoned her...she has a birth defect (head leans to one side). Here's a picture I took when she first was able to sit up on her own (acually, she is more leaning against the stuffed bear but she was at least upright!! :p ) To give you an idea of her size, she is sitting in a shoe box!! :bounce:
