Well, we had more than a set of them and tonight one of them spontaneously combusted when DS went to take it out of the cabinet. All he did was touch it and the glass exploded inside of the cabinet, on the counter and all over the floor. Luckily DS was not hurt and only had one small knick on his wrist.

I've never seen a glass shatter so completely like this one did.

If you have these glasses, just beware of what happened to us. If it happens with another glass, I'm throwing these all away.

Wow!! I was looking at those the other day ,while getting a drink of water, wondering if they were made in China and if the paint used to decorate them had lead in it. Does anyone know where these glasses were made?

That is scary! We have all four glasses and haven't used them until a few weeks ago. So far no problems.

We've been using them since they came out and no problems until now.

I hadn't thought about lead paint, but since we don't make a habit of licking the outside of our glasses, I think we're ok even if it does contain lead.

I have 2 sets.... we use them every day (they are our only glasses). Thanks for the warning!

We have two sets, but we don't use them. I might get them out and see if there is any damage. Thanks for the warning!

I had one of those glasses at one time, but I don't know what happened to it. What a weird occurance!

That is pretty weird... we had a glass "explode" on us the other day as well. It was an older glass that had some cartoon picture on it. My daughter went to take it out of the dishwasher and it made a poping noise and fell apart. I was wondering if it was because it was an older glass and my hubby had put it in the freezer and used it the day before that did something to the glass. I thought it was weird and now to know that others have done it as well?! It is kind of crazy.

Most do have lead. But as long as you are not licking the outside of the glass you will be okay. I work where we sell decorated glasses and have to post a warning about the lead in the paint. Remember the paint is on the OUTSIDE of the glass. So you should be okay.

I have not had the Disney glasses explode, but I had the McD Flinstone glasses and it did explode after years of just being there.

(yes I have a collector glass fetish)

That is the only glass I drink Milk out of. It's the perfect size. WOW. I guess
I'll beware!:sad1:

We have 2 sets. One hasn't been touched. I guess I'm hoping it appreciates in value. Bwah!

The other we use every day and haven't had problems.

We have two sets that are used all the time and washed in a dishwasher w/o any problems.

We have 2 sets as well and I use them all the time without problems. I would hate to lose them - they are my favorites. :)

You know, we are a bunch of dorks, treasuring our glasses from McDonalds!
There aren't many things I'd rush to McDonalds to get. Disney glasses are something for which I'd make the special trip!

These are my favorite glasses, too. They are the perfect size.

We have many of these and use them all the time. So far none have exploded but we did break one by hitting it with silverwear in the sink one time.

I love these glasses. They are the perfect size and weight.

Sheesh!!

I have 14 of those glasses (I just went & counted).
I hope that never happens to them!
